I am one of those unlucky people with skin prone to breakouts and spots and while I do whatever I can to prevent them, they still appear. Normally, I get hormonal breakouts but sometimes it’s because of the food I eat. Whatever the reason these spots appear, I want to get rid of them fast!
Usually, I use essential oils on these blemishes such as tea tree oil or lavender oil but they have a quite drying effect on the skin (although they do work). So I am always interested in trying other products that could help my blemishes heal quicker without drying my skin out too much. Recently I’ve discovered two products from Odylique which seemed to be perfect for this job: Odylique Lemon & Tea Tree Purifying Wash and Odylique Spot-on Serum. If you are looking to try some new organic skin care products to treat your acne or blemishes, these two products are well worth buying.
Odylique is a UK-based brand that I adore and in the past, I had tested several of their products such as Balancing Citrus Super Tonic, Timeless Rose Moisturiser and their Natural Sunscreen SPF30. They are all great products which I do recommend.
Odylique organic skincare products are certified organic by The Soil Association and especially suitable for sensitive skin. These products don’t contain palm oil and common allergens such as tree nut oils, wheat, soy or dairy.
The two products that I chose to help me treat (and prevent) blemishes are both 100% natural and vegan. Here is what I really thought about them:
Odylique Lemon & Tea Tree Purifying Wash Review
Lemon & Tea Tree Purifying Wash is a delight to use. It has a lemony scent and as soon as I start massaging it onto my face, I can feel my skin soften (I apply it onto dampened skin). Although the face wash barely foams, if at all, that’s not a problem for me. It’s the results that matter. I am amazed at how lovely my skin feels afterwards. Surprisingly not tight at all. It doesn’t feel this face wash dries the skin out and it shouldn’t as it contains rehydrating vitamin-rich extra virgin olive oil and moisturising aloe vera.
This face wash cleanses the skin very well and it’s really effective at removing face makeup and impurities. I am impressed. When I use a toner on my face afterwards, applying it with a cotton pad, there is no sign of any dirt or grime on the cotton pad, something that never happened with some of the face washes/cleansers that I’ve tried in the past. No doubt this face wash goes deep into your pores removing all the dirt that could result in breakouts.
This Odylique face wash comes in a pump bottle (200 ml) and you need about 4 pumps to clean your face well. This may sound a lot but it’s not really as with each pump only a little bit of product comes out. When looking at the product on my hand, the amount is not that much but it’s enough. For this reason, I think this bottle should last you for a while.
This face cleanser is really gentle and almost like creamy cleanser, but more watery. It’s especially suitable for combination, oily and blemish-prone skin as it contains antibacterial tea tree oil and detoxifying lemon. It’s a great, non-drying face wash which I am happy to recommend.
Odylique Spot-on Serum Review
I picked Odylique Spot-on Serum as I was really interested to see how it compares to plain tea tree oil for treating blemishes. But this spot-on treatment is not only for clarifying your blemished skin, it’s also suitable for minor skin damages, stings and bites. It’s essentially a multi-purpose product but I haven’t tried it yet on other skin irritations.
The main active ingredients in this serum are antimicrobial lavender, tea tree and echinacea. It also has an addition of repairing and calming aloe juice and soothing calendula. Certainly, some of the best ingredients to have to help with skin healing and irritation.
The serum comes in a tube and is available in two sizes: 20ml and 60ml. I have the 20ml version which I think will last me a long time as I don’t need to apply much for one application. If you have a family, it’s not a bad idea to get yourself a 60ml version.
When I first started using this serum, I was a little bit surprised at how runny it was actually. I was expecting a slightly thicker product, more creamy, but it’s not like that at all. So you need to be careful when you squeeze it out as it’s very easy to squeeze out too much.
It’s recommended to apply this product to affected areas several times a day (2-4 times), as required. I found this product more effective when applied many times a day as opposed to just once. And it definitely works. What I noticed is that it helps to reduce the size of a spot or a pimple and it accelerates the healing process. It’s really good and I cannot wait to try it on other skin problems. It’s a great product to have if you have a family and can be used on children from 6 months onward.
So I’ve been impressed with Odylique again, their organic products rarely disappoint and if you are looking to add some new organic skincare products to your routine, I highly recommend you check them out.
