Now it’s the time when I reach for deodorant more often than in colder months and although I am already using a natural deodorant that works, I was curious to try Dr. Hauschka Rose Deodorant to see how it compares.
Dr. Hauschka is a brand I haven’t explored much so when I was browsing the LoveLula website I decided to pick some of Dr. Hauschka’s products as a member of the LoveLula Blogger Accredited Programme*. I am reviewing the Rose Deodorant first.

Here is a full list of ingredients:
Aqua, Simmondsia Chinensis Seed Oil, Alcohol, Manihot Utilissima Starch, Glycerin, Zinc Ricinoleate, Ricinus Communis Seed Oil, Glyceryl Caprylate, Rosa Damascena Flower Water, Rosa Damascena Flower Oil, Parfum, Citronellol, Linalool, Geraniol, Eugenol, Limonene, Farnesol, Citral, Benzyl Alcohol*, Alchemilla Vulgaris Extract, Cetearyl Alcohol, Cetearyl Glucoside, Hectorite, Xanthan Gum. *from natural essential oils
The star ingredients in this formulation are rose water and rose flower oil (both from Damask rose) which create this lovely flowery fragrance. The scent is not too strong but it’s really nice, I love it! Anybody who likes floral scents will love this one.
The other ingredient worth mentioning is a herb Alchemilla which has been added to regulate perspiration.
To neutralise the odour, Zinc Ricinoleate is used and to moisturise the skin Jojoba oil (Simmondsia Chinensis Seed Oil) has been added.
This deodorant contains alcohol which some people may find irritating but it does say in the product description that it can be used on normal to sensitive skin due to lower alcohol content.
Review
I really love the smell of this deodorant. I normally prefer citrusy scents but this one is amazing. It’s such a lovely floral scent, I am in love with it! When I first apply the deodorant I can smell the scent for a while but then it slowly dissipates.
The application is quick and easy as it’s a roll-on deodorant (contained in a glass bottle) so there is no dipping fingers into a pot of creamy paste – this just makes life a little bit easier when you are busy and in a hurry. While I love Aurelia’s Cream deodorant, using the roll-on deodorant is definitely more convenient.
In terms of performance, I was pleasantly surprised. In the past, I’ve tried many natural roll-on deodorants which didn’t perform very well and would not keep me fresh all day. But Dr. Hauschka’s Rose Deodorant is definitely not one of them. It actually does work, keeping me free from odour all day long. I tested it while doing various activities – from light housework to fast walking outside. Even when I was sweating quite a lot, I was surprised at how well this deodorant worked for me. My armpits didn’t produce any odour at all when I was using it although I still got wet.
Based on my experience, I am happy to recommend Dr. Hauschka Rose Deodorant. I really really like it and although it’s more expensive than some other natural deodorants it’s definitely worth it as it works and it smells wonderful.
