Aurelia Probiotic Skincare (now Aurelia London) is a brand that I really enjoy using, specifically their Miracle Cleanser which I always love to have in my bathroom cabinet. But recently I’ve decided to try their Cream Deodorant which was on sale and I just couldn’t resist the offer. I normally use Weleda’s deodorants which work well enough for me but thought to try something different for a change. Aurelia Probiotic deodorant had many positive reviews online and it’s also one of their best sellers so I was really interested to see whether I will also love it. Here is my honest review…

Packaging
The deodorant comes in a 50 g glass jar with a plastic lid that is currently not recyclable but the brand is planning to replace this with a recyclable one in the future.
I know that not everybody will like dipping their fingers into the jar and scooping out the right amount of deodorant but I don’t really mind too much. Of course, you need to make sure you wash your hands beforehand to stop transferring all kinds of bacteria into the jar.
Texture
This deodorant is a creamy smooth paste that melts into the skin easily. It’s very easy to spread and doesn’t feel grainy. It dries very quickly into a fine powder form and doesn’t leave white marks on the clothes.
The scent
I really love the smell of this deodorant. It’s slightly citrusy, not very strong but really nice and fresh. Once I apply deodorant onto my armpits I can definitely detect the smell afterwards and when I am busy doing things I occasionally get a whiff of this lovely scent.
Ingredients
This is a 100% natural deodorant containing no worrying ingredients such as aluminium and parabens.
The main ingredients helping you stay fresh during the day are antimicrobial Arrowroot and pure Kaolin which absorb perspiration and inhibit bacteria.
Citrus Botanical Cream Deodorant also contains bicarbonate of soda commonly used in natural deodorants as an anti-bacterial and to eliminate odour. Some people react to this ingredient so if you are one of them this deodorant is not for you.
However, it’s worth noting that this deodorant is suitable for sensitive skin so if your skin quickly reacts to various ingredients you shouldn’t have issues with Citrus Botanical Cream Deodorant.
Shea butter is added to deodorant to gently hydrate the skin while an essential oil blend (Mandarin, Sweet Orange, Grapefruit, Rosemary) creates a lovely scent and also acts as an anti-bacterial.

How to use
To use this cream deodorant you simply take a fingertip-sized amount out of the jar and apply it to your armpits with clean fingers. Make sure you cover the whole area where you normally sweat to prevent any undesired odour.
Performance
So far I’ve tried quite a few natural deodorants and they are not all the same. Some of them will not keep me fresh all day long unless I reapply at least once a day. But Aurelia’s deodorant is different. I am actually really impressed with it. I was sceptical at first but now I can say from my own personal experience that it truly works.
I apply the deodorant in the morning and for the rest of the day, I don’t have to worry about the unpleasant smell. It can handle all my daytime activities, such as housework and daily walks. Sometimes I sweat quite a lot and my clothes get wet but there is no smell. I am really amazed at how well this deodorant works and I highly recommend it! It works even with hairy armpits because I have to admit, I don’t have time to regularly shave as I have a little one to look after!
So far I’ve been using it only for a couple of weeks but never ever smelled unpleasant. Now, we’ll see how long the jar lasts and if the texture changes over time so I will update this review in the near future.
