Bellapierre Kiss Proof Lip Creme came in one of the beauty boxes I bought and although I don’t wear lipsticks very often I thought to review this product as it was nothing like any other lipstick I bought in the past. Although technically it’s not really a lipstick, it’s a liquid lipstick, creamy and wet once applied, turning matte very quickly.
So let’s see how I got on…
Finish
The finish is very unusual and I would describe it as a soft matte. It dries to your lips just like any liquid lipstick.
Kiss Proof Lip Creme dries pretty quickly so you have to be quick when applying it to make sure you apply it evenly. Try not to put your lips together when applying it as it is a bit sticky when still wet.
Once Kiss Proof Lip Creme is dry, it’s not moisturising at all and I would strongly advise against applying it onto dry lips. First of all, make sure your lips are exfoliated and well moisturised before applying it otherwise it will cling to dry areas and sit in the fine lines of your lips. Not a nice look! I’ve learnt that the hard way.
Another thing to keep in mind is that this ‘lipstick’ doesn’t do well with multiple layers. I would say one layer is enough and don’t try more than 2 layers otherwise it just won’t look good.
Once I apply it, my lips sometimes start looking dry so I tend to apply some shiny lip balm on top and then it looks great. I feel my lips definitely need that moisturise on top since this is a very matte lip product.
The colour
Considering that the colour of this Lip Creme is described as “Nude” I found it surprisingly strong, not subtle at all.
You would think that nude colours are gentle, barely showing and quite natural, right? Well, not this one. I actually think it didn’t really suit me but I know that for many people this is a great colour. I ended up giving it away to my sister who loved the colour and looked great while wearing it.
Performance
The Bellapierre Kiss Proof Lip Creme claims to be long lasting and I must say I totally agree with this. Is it kiss proof? I would say yes!
It’s surprising how long lasting it is actually. I’ve never tried natural “lipstick” before this one which would be as lasting as Kiss Proof Lip Creme.
After eating, it still looks great and only after wearing it for some time I notice my lips are slowly losing the colour.
It wears off nicely, leaving no patches.
After a bit of time, you have to reapply it to get that full colour back but this is the case with most lip products.
Packaging
The Bellapierre Kiss Proof Lip Creme has clear plastic packaging. The silver strip on the black lid wore off within a week or so. It just peeled away but this did nothing for me really.
I would prefer if they opted for a matte lid to reflect the finish of the product like some other lip products but this is not a major drawback.
However, I do appreciate that the tube is clear so you can see the colour of the product more accurately.
The doe foot applicator is standard of many liquid lipsticks and I didn’t mind it.
Price
The Bellapierre Kiss Proof Lip Creme is not the cheapest natural lip product you can buy and I would say it’s a little bit expensive. However, if you are looking for natural long-lasting lipstick, this is definitely worth considering regardless of the price point. Also, keep in mind that it’s also not the cheapest due to mostly natural ingredients.
In conclusion…
There are some really good points about the Bellapierre Kiss Proof Lip Creme such as its lasting power while still being quite natural.
The downside is that you will still have to reapply it throughout the day at least once or twice and its price may put some people off.
There are some mixed reviews about this product online – some people love it while some people hate it. I personally didn’t love it as it was such an unusual lip product for me and felt so dry on my lips. Without wearing a lip balm on top I would have hated it! Anyway, it’s totally your decision whether you want to give it a try and hopefully, my review helps you to make that decision.
