Review: Antipodes Glow Ritual Vitamin C Serum With Plant Hyaluronic Acid

So far I’ve tried quite a few different vitamin C serums but nothing like Antipodes Glow Ritual Vitamin C Serum. This is a quite special serum as it doesn’t contain only vitamin C but also other powerful ingredients that will really make a difference to your skin. In this review, you will learn what it can do for your skin and what I really thought about it.

Key ingredients

One of the main active ingredients in Antipodes Vitamin C serum is Kakadu plum fruit extract which is a potent ingredient containing high levels of vitamin C.

Kakadu plum extract offers the following benefits for the skin:

  • It brightens the skin and protects it from oxidative stress caused by external factors such as the sun and pollution.
  • Its high vitamin C content helps to increase collagen production in the skin (which decreases with age) resulting in plumper and less wrinkly skin.
  • It helps to prevent and treat acne as it has antibacterial properties and can kill acne-causing bacteria. It also reduces inflammation found in inflammatory acne.
  • It prevents dry skin by strengthening skin barrier function.

The other powerful ingredient in this serum is Bakuchiol which is proven to reduce fine lines and wrinkles without causing irritation. It also helps with pigmentation, elasticity, and firmness.

Antipodes Vitamin C serum also contains hyaluronic acid which is well known for its hydrating properties and capability to retain water. Hyaluronic acid effectively hydrates the skin and helps to improve its appearance. The research shows that hyaluronic acid also has anti-wrinkle and anti-ageing effects.

There are no animal-derived ingredients in Antipodes Vitamin C serum which makes it suitable for vegans (the serum is vegan certified by the UK Vegetarian Society).

All the ingredients in this serum are of natural origins. For a full list, check out this page.

Review

Antipodes Glow Ritual Vitamin C serum is non-oily, very light and has a runny consistency. Its colour is golden due to added pigmented minerals iron oxide and titanium dioxide. It shimmers because of the addition of mica.

Due to its light texture, the serum is very easy to spread and quick to absorb. The skin is left with a healthy glow which is very subtle but it’s definitely there. And it looks totally natural, it’s not like you’ve just put some makeup on, it’s more like a subtle sun-kissed look.

After application, the skin feels softer and smoother.

This serum is intended for day use and can make a great base for makeup. It’s suitable for most skin types and I think it’s especially great for combination and oily skin types as it doesn’t cause breakouts and can even help treat pimples. However, it’s also perfect for dry skin as it’s hydrating but you need to use it together with your face cream to get the most out of it. Dull skin will also greatly benefit from this serum.

The scent is great – gentle and fresh, very nice and not overpowering.

I cannot find any faults with this product, to be honest. It’s very good and it does so many things for the skin so I am happy to recommend it.
