Balmonds Skin Salvation Balm Review

Balmonds Skin Salvation balm has won awards for its effectiveness and is very popular among people with sensitive skin. But what I especially like about it is the fact that is suitable for babies (over 6 weeks old) which makes it a wonderful multi-purpose family balm. Why have separate products for your child when you can buy products that are suitable for everyone in the family? That’s why I am such a big fan of Balmonds balm. I use it on my rough and dry skin and on my child’s skin.

Balmonds Skin Salvation is designed especially to treat extremely dry skin and rough areas of your body. It’s particularly suitable for very sensitive skin and can improve skin conditions such as eczema, dermatitis and psoriasis.

In this review, you will find out what I really think about it and what I like and don’t like about it.

Ingredients

In Balmonds’ Skin Salvation you will find only natural ingredients and no irritating fragrances or synthetic ingredients. The main ingredient olive oil is a very effective moisturiser that contains vitamin E and is full of antioxidants that help to heal and repair the skin.

Beeswax is the second ingredient on the list that helps to create a protective film on the skin, preventing moisturise loss.

Safflower seed oil and hemp seed oil also help to moisturise the skin, helping it to retain the water. The hemp seed oil also has soothing and anti-ageing properties, helping to improve skin elasticity.

Calendula extract helps skin to heal and can reduce inflammation while chamomile extract has calming and soothing properties.

Skin Salvation also contains chickweed extract which is a natural anti-inflammatory and can soothe itchiness. It also helps the skin regenerate and repair.

Nettle extract also helps to reduce itchiness and offers a multitude of skin benefits including healing and anti-ageing.

Skin Salvation in a jar

Review

I have frequent episodes of dermatitis on my hands and Skin Salvation really helps to improve my skin condition. It soothes my skin, reduces itchiness and moisturises it well, reducing flakiness. Regular hand moisturisers cannot do all of these, that’s why I am such a big fan of this balm. It really does work!

The balm is very thick and rich so it’s not that easy to spread but I only use it on small areas of skin and areas that need the most care, so this is not a problem for me. Using it on larger areas of skin will be a bit more challenging as the balm does take a bit of time to massage and sink into the skin but it is worth it in the end.

I also use this balm on my 2-year old toddler and so far it worked incredibly well for him. When he had a rash on the back of his knees, this balm helped to get rid of it and as soon as I see some kind of irritation on his skin, I quickly apply this balm and it’s just amazing how much it helps. I even use it on his face when his skin is getting a bit dry. But I have to rub it between my fingers first to melt it and make it easier to spread and then apply it otherwise it’s a bit difficult.

I once tried to use Skin Salvation as an overnight treatment for my hands but I was really regretting it as it was greasy and was taking ages to absorb and it was feeling sticky for a long time. I think I applied too much of it, to be honest, so I think it’s still ok to use it in this way but just use it sparingly.

Another thing that I really like about this balm is that it comes in several different sizes: a 30ml jar, a 60ml jar and a 120ml jar. The small jar is perfect for travel and I always put it in my handbag when I go somewhere, it comes really handy and doesn’t take up too much space. If you have a big family and everybody will be using this balm I suggest you go for the biggest size as it’s more cost-effective.

All in all, this is a great product and I highly recommend it to anyone with children. And if your skin is sensitive and prone to eczema and dermatitis, this balm is definitely for you. You will not regret it if you buy it! Get in on Amazon here >
